Practical Mystic

Are you sure you're right?

I am.

I am sure that you are right. About whatever it is.

How can I say that so conclusively?

Because people are always going to make themselves right. No matter what the “truth” is.

What you believe, you will find evidence for. What you believe about yourself and the world is going to be true for you. You will find support for your position no matter how crazy your proof may seem to others.

There are as many “truths” in the world as there are people. Because everyone sees the world through their own filter.

I’m sure you know a beautiful woman who thinks she is unattractive.

I’m sure you have a friend who is very smart but always puts herself down and believes that she doesn’t measure up to others.

No matter how much proof they have from those who see them as attractive and smart–they will insist on the instances where they have been told or made to feel otherwise.

So while the world sees them one way, to themselves they remain right about not looking a certain way or being smart enough.

This is what people do.

Because you will always make yourself right. Even if you are making yourself right about things that hold you back from living the life you want.

So this leads to the million dollar question:

What are you making yourself right about?

Are you right that “it’s always something”?

Are you right that you are never going to lose the weight?

Are you right that money is hard to come by and there is never enough?

Are you right that the world is a cold, hard place and you have to fight and claw to keep yourself from being brought down by others?

Are you right that no one is to be trusted and everyone is out to get you?

Are you right that you have to prove your worth?

Because if you believe those things, I am sure that has been your experience.

Whatever you look for you will find. Because you need to be right. Everyone does.

But what if you decide to change what you are being right about?

What if you were right that “everything is always working out for me?”

What if you were right that you will lose the weight and you will be slim and lovely in your clothing?

What if you were right that money flows easily to you and that your needs will always be generously met?

What if you were right that the world is a beautiful, safe place and others are always willing to lend a helping hand?

What if you were right that almost everyone deserves your trust and those who don’t will be red flagged by your intuition?

What if you were right that you being on this planet makes you inherently worthy?

How different would your life be?

Because if you look for examples of those things, you will find them. You will find them in your life and in the world at large. It all depends on what you want to be right about. That will determine which proof you find for yourself.

When you shift your belief, all the truths of that new belief will start coming into focus. The evidence has been there all along, you just couldn’t see it because you were busy being right about the opposite.

Loving people live in a loving world. Hostile people live in a hostile world. Same world. ~Wayne Dyer

I left the hostile world a few years ago. There is still just as much good and bad as there ever was (there is drastically more good in the world than bad, you would just never know it with today’s media), but now my lens is focused primarily on the good.

And while I focus on the good, more and more good things keep coming my way. So since I changed my mind and started believing something different, guess what?

I’ve been right.

So I ask you:

Which world are you living in? The loving world? Or the hostile world?

What are you making yourself right about?

Hugs,

Lorna

In order to change your life, you must first change your mind.
